In these days of "pc-speak" for damn near everything, perhaps a small step toward de-stigmatizing your issue would be to stop using the word "cheating" for a bit of the strange, as the British style it. I will go down saying cheating is for tests and gambling, not human relationships.

One can regret a walk on the wild side for any number of reasons. Or not regret it at all. I prefer to remember with pleasure the sins of my youth. And always plead 'em non guilty.
